A COMMUNITY FARM FOR EVERYONE
The community farm is an inclusive space where people of all ages and abilities can get involved, contribute and enjoy time outdoors. Through hands-on activities and nature-connected experiences, we support wellbeing, reduce isolation and create opportunities for personal growth.

Whether someone is discovering gardening for the first time, developing practical skills or simply enjoying the benefits of being outdoors, our approach is centred on inclusion, encouragement and a sense of belonging.

We recognise that everyone has different strengths, interests and needs. Our community farm celebrates these differences and provides opportunities for people to participate in ways that are meaningful to them.
GROWING TOGETHER
Community growing sits at the heart of Knowler Farm CIC. Our growing projects bring people together to plant, nurture, harvest and learn about food and the natural environment.

These hands-on experiences provide opportunities to develop practical skills, build confidence and understand where our food comes from. They also create meaningful ways for people to work together, share knowledge and experience a sense of achievement.

From seasonal planting to harvesting and sharing produce, community growing connects people with the land and one another. As our growing spaces and projects evolve, we continue to create new opportunities for community members to take part, contribute their skills and enjoy the rewards of growing together.
Connecting the Farm, Food and Community
An important part of our community farm is the connection between growing, food, hospitality and the wider opportunities available through Knowler Farm and local partners.

We work to develop meaningful links with Knowler Cafe, Fern and Farrow Farm Shop and Fern and Farrow Event Chefs, bringing together community growing, locally sourced food and practical learning.
These connections provide opportunities to celebrate seasonal produce, explore the journey from field to fork and introduce people to different aspects of farm and food-based environments.

Through collaborative events, food-related workshops, practical experiences and volunteering opportunities, we bring together the farm, local businesses and the wider community.
Our programme continues to evolve as we develop new relationships and opportunities that support learning, participation and community connection.
By connecting the land, the food we grow and the people who bring it to the table, we create a vibrant community hub rooted in nature, food and shared purpose.
Activities and Community Opportunities
Our community programme offers a growing range of inclusive opportunities designed to support different interests, needs and abilities.
Activities include community growing, SEND-friendly workshops, outdoor family events, seasonal crafts, wellbeing days, intergenerational gatherings and skills-based volunteering.

Each experience is designed to encourage participation, celebrate individual strengths and help people develop confidence through meaningful involvement. Our activities and opportunities continue to develop in response to the interests and needs of the community.
A Shared Commitment to Community
Together, Willowbank CIC (PDK CIC) and Knowler Farm CIC complement our wider education and engagement work by creating opportunities for people to connect with nature, develop skills and build stronger relationships within their communities.
